John’s mother purchased this plastic M-38A1 toy for him in the 1960s for $.79. He was surprised to learn that it was still being made and sold, though the price is now $17.90:

You can also buy it on a certain online store. I won’t mention them…they have enough money.

As I recall, I eventually got the gun out and painted it white. It’s just a coincidence that 30 years later I bought a very nice restored stock CJ-5, it was also white.

Anyway, I’ll probably pick one up and give it to the shop that is restoring my A1. If I can find a flexible blue paint, I may even paint one in USAF blue like mine.

The buy-it-now price is $55. I’m sure it’s a rare one; I’ve never seen another copy. It looks to be around 20 pages(?).

“Up for auction is an incredibly rare very early Jeep collectible: a 1956 Jeepers Jamboree booklet in excellent condition! The booklet talks about the drive through from Lake Tahoe via Georgetown. “Listed is a rare #294 of 1000 Limited edition smoke stack brick from Willys Overland Jeep Chrysler headquarters in Toledo, Ohio. for those that don’t know. Willys Overland was known for their triple smoke stacks. This is number 294 of the 1000 bricks that were kept and auctioned off to help their local boy scout troop years ago when they knocked down the infamous stacks to build a bigger factory to build the new 4 door Jeep Wranglers. Here’s a video of a drive in a rusted CJ-2A. The driver made a few minor mistakes in describing it. At least he had fun driving it.

Marty shared this customized CJ-6. He confirmed this was built in Pennsylvania. Both rear axles are drive axles, though one new carrier bearing is needed.The large side windows suggest theMeyer hardtop was modified, too.

“his is a 74 CJ5 extended to include a third axle. Runs rough at the moment but drives amazingly well. It is powered by a 79 small block 350 which makes this Jeep scream down the road. Very well built all original look steel interior and exterior no fiberglass. Has a stretched and modified steel hard top wrapped in vinyl and a steel half cap included but not in great shape. Also includes the tan bikini top for warmer driving. In the opinion of mine and others (mechanics) this is a very well built rig and can be left as is with minor work and still a one of one head turner in the world!! Needs a carrier bearing on the mid axle rebuilt to drive the rear axle and with that is a live three axle Jeep. Will consider trading for; Scouts, Range Rover, Land Rover, Land cruisers 43,45,or 47 Ford Bronco, Jeep CJ6, CJ8-Scrambler, pretty much anything old cool and definitely 4×4!”

Ted’s got this Monroe 3-point hitch. He also has some housings and other pro parts.

“Up for sale or possible trade is a Willys Jeep Monroe Three Point Hitch or Hydraulic Lift Assembly. This is the last of a large collection of lifts that I’ve liquidated. This Monroe setup is in overall very decent condition for its age and mostly complete with the exception of the one small rear housing mount ( which I might be able to source by the time of a sale or trade) and the hydraulic lines which all guys usually have made new at any hydraulic line shop or even most Napa’s will make you new lines. All the other components of a Monroe lift are present including a few of the super hard parts to find like the original crank shaft driven pump and mount , center link and adjustment Plates.

I was lucky enough to find an original under body mount for these lifts and I had a few made from a Machinest friend of mine which will be included with all hardware to mount. Control Valve and tank assembly included as well as Monroe Lift housing with original ram ( all mounting tabs perfect) , leveling link, lift rods ,left and right lower lift arms, rear draw bar mounts etc. I will also include a copy of the master parts list for a Monroe lift Assembly and a link to an original Monroe operation and care Manual.

I have a few extra housings that may be available as well but no other extra small parts. Feel free to call or text with any questions or specific pic requests. I have sold four of these units recently all within the $2500-$3000 range depending on condition and completeness if lift.

Lots of updates to his tall riding 3A.

This seller has posted this convertible DJ-3A in several places on Facebook, asking questions about what it is, etc. My answers too the question of ‘what it is’ resulted in at least one commenter referring to me as an “idiot” (or something similar; I can’t remember the exact word) for not knowing what I was talking about ….. Ah, yes, the cesspool the FB can be. To the commenters credit, after politely calling out the author of that witticism, he did take the time to apologize. But, still …

With that in mind, I am surprised the seller is claiming this is an “all original” DJ-3A, instead of labeling it, as I explained several times to him, a DJ-3A convertible that’s been modified with four wheel drive.

(12/12/2020) The cargo bedfloor has been replaced with a flat sheet of metal. The front floors look repaired. This has a capstan winch on the front.

“I FOUND THIS JEEP IN CONNECTICUT AND BOUGHT IT FROM THE 3RD OWNER. IT HAS A 12 VOLT SYSTEM WITH A STARTER BUTTON ON THE DASH. ALSO HAS A DIRECTION SYSTEM WITH 4 WAY FLASHERS. ALL LIGHTS WORK. IT HAS HAD A STEEL PLATE WELDED TO THE BACK FLOOR AND THE SIDES ARE A BIT BEAT UP. THE WINDSHEID HAS BEEN REPAIRED AND IS NOW ONE PIECE. ITS PAINTED IN IT’S ORIGINAL COLOR PASTURE GREEN. IT ALSO HAS A VERY RARE CAPSTAN WINCH MOUNTED UP FRONT. COMES WITH A HALF CAB AND A REAR SEAT. I HAVE A LETTER FROM THE 3RD STATING THE MILAGE IS ORIGINAL 12 – 14,000 IN 1999 WHEN I BOUGHT IT.
