Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse!Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse explores the vast possibilities of the multiverse, and that includes visiting several other Spider-Man universes along the way. The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse continues Miles Morales' story over a year after the events of the first film. While he, Gwen Stacy, Peter B. Parker, and others thought they saved the multiverse by destroying Kingpin's super collider, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse reveals the truth. They simply put a bandage over the breaking multiverse, leaving Miguel O'Hara to begin patrolling the multiverse to keep it safe.
The multiversal problems that Miguel and the Spider-Society deal with in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse allow the movie to take on a story with more multiverse traveling. Whereas Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse largely told its story in Miles Morales' universe, several other Spider-Man universes are included in the sequel. Unlike other recent superhero movies that involved the multiverse, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse more firmly commits to spending time in more than a few. There are several Spider-Man universes visited, shown, or teased before Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's post-credits tease happens.
11 Earth-19999: MCU/Tom Holland Spider-Man's Universe
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is directly referenced as one of the Spider-Man universes in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Although it does not appear in some fashion like other entries on the list, there is a specific call out to it that is worth mentioning. Miguel O'Hara brings the MCU and Tom Holland's Spider-Man into Across the Spider-Verse's multiverse by referencing Doctor Strange and a nerd from Earth-19999. The line was included in promotional materials, prompting speculation that more MCU connections could be included. While Tom Holland does not appear in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Donald Glover's Prowler does in a cameo.
The Earth-19999 designation for the MCU that Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is not the same that Marvel Studios considers canon, though. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness referred to the MCU as Earth-616, even though that has long been known to be the designation for the main Marvel Comics universe. The comics gave the MCU an Earth-19999 tag, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse follows that lead. While it means that the MCU and Spider-Verse multiverses do not wholly line up, this is also necessary because Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse already established that Peter B. Parker is from Earth-616.
10 Earth-65: Gwen Stacy's Universe
One of the main universes in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is Earth-65, the home of Gwen Stacy. The first movie established that Gwen was from Earth-65, but it was not featured outside of brief glimpses from her origin story summary. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse spends a lot more time in Gwen's universe thanks to her receiving a more significant role in the sequel. This includes the movie beginning with an extended sequence set on Earth-65 to explore what Gwen has been doing since traveling the multiverse the first time. Gwen's universe in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is animated like a watercolor painting.
9 Earth-1610: Miles Morales' Universe
It is no surprise that Miles Morales' Earth-1610 is another universe prominently featured in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. The film takes a bit more time to return audiences to Brooklyn and show what Miles' life is like now, but the entire beginning of his story is set here. This includes his reunion with Gwen Stacy and encountering The Spot for the first time. Although Miles spends plenty of time in other universes in Across the Spider-Verse after he leaves to encounter the Spider-Society, Earth-1610 returns in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's ending. This comes through Gwen going there to try and find Miles after he leaves Spider-Society HQ.
8 Earth-688: Venom's Universe
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse also visits Venom's universe, Earth-688, during one sequence. When The Spot begins to explore the magnitude of his multiverse traveling powers, he briefly winds up in Earth-688 at a familiar convenience store owned by Mrs. Chen. She returns for a cameo and interacts with The Spot, although she is not fazed by his appearance after befriending Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock. This brings both Venom movies, as well as Morbius, into Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's multiverse. However, Tom Hardy does not make a cameo in any form.
7 Earth-131222: LEGO Spider-Man's Universe
A hilarious moment Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse includes comes with a visit to Earth-131222, the LEGO Spider-Man universe. Animated similarly as popular fan-made LEGO Spider-Man videos, the movie shows Peter Parker from Earth-131222 after he witnesses The Spot. He alerts Miguel O'Hara to the multiversal disturbance as a member of the Spider-Society and is told that he is one of their best agents. The scene even includes more of J.K. Simmons as the voice of J. Jonah Jameson in LEGO form.
6 Earth-50101: Pavitr Prabhakar's Universe
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse visits another universe through the introduction of Spider-Man India, Pavitr Prabhakar. Known as Earth-50101, this Spider-Man universe appears in Across the Spider-Verse when Miles follows Gwen as she tracks down The Spot. The sequence primarily explores Mumbatten, a metropolis that combines Mumbai and Manhattan, as Miles, Gwen, and Pavitr track down The Spot. Although it is only briefly shown, Earth-50101 plays a pivotal role in the story, as Miles stops a Canon Event, which creates a Quantum Hole that could destroy the entire universe.
5 Earth-928: Spider-Society HQ's Universe
One of the other main Spider-Man universes in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is Earth-928, the Spider-Society HQ's universe. This universe is futuristic in its design compared to others, as there are flying cars, a rocket train to the moon, and more. This is Miguel O'Hara's original universe and is set in the year 2099. He seemingly returns to Nueva York on Earth-928 to begin building the Spider-Society after stopping a Canon Event when he traveled to another universe, which made him understand the importance of maintaining order in the multiverse.
4 Earth-?: Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man Universe
Viewers also briefly see Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man universe in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. During an explanation of Canon Events by Miguel O'Hara and the Spider-Society, footage from the Spider-Man trilogy is shown. The scenes include Uncle Ben's death from Spider-Man, Eddie Brock's Venom transformation in Spider-Man 3, and more. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse does not specifically note the universe designation, so it is unknown if this multiverse would use the same Earth-96283 designation Marvel established with the 2008 book Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z Vol 1.
3 Earth-?: Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man Universe
Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man universe also is shown in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse during the Canon Events explanation sequence. Footage from The Amazing Spider-Man used includes Uncle Ben's death scene and the death of Captain Stacy. The latter is the most prominently featured scene used, as it directly connects to Gwen's arc and signifies that her father is going to die. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse also does not confirm the movie's universe designation for this multiverse, but The Amazing Spider-Man movies have previously been referred to as Earth-120703.
2 Earth-42: Miles Morales The Prowler's Universe
A bit of a shock comes in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse's ending when Miles Morales discovers he traveled to Earth-42 instead of Earth-1610. This happens when he leaves Earth-928 and the Spider-Society's program accidentally registers him as belonging to Earth-42 because the spider that bit him was originally from there. It takes Miles a while to discover the mistake that leaves him a universe where his dad Jeff died, his uncle Aaron is still alive, and there is no Spider-Man. The biggest surprise of all, though, is that Earth-42's Miles Morales is Prowler, turning to a life of crime after his dad's death.
1 Earth-616: Peter B. Parker's Universe
The last Spider-Man universe in Across the Spider-Verse is Earth-616, Peter B. Parker's universe. It is visited briefly after he and Mayday return home after leaving the Spider-Society. After Peter and Mary Jane briefly catch up, he is alerted to the fact that Gwen is outside his house. She comes to recruit him to join a new group of Spider-people who are going to travel the multiverse to save Miles Morales in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. The Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse scenes mark the first time the franchise has gone to Earth-616 outside of quick sequences connected to Peter B. Parker's origin and ending in the original.
